Joyce Elaine Peoples

Joyce Elaine Peoples, 83, of Lake Charles passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020 in Crowley, LA.

Mrs. Peoples was born on October 07, 1936 to Lawrence and Bernice McGee Granger.  She was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles.  She worked her younger years at the service desk and cash office at K-Mart.  She met and married her second husband and true love and enjoyed traveling with him while he was working, weekends at Toledo fishing and annual trips to Branson, MO.  She also enjoyed volunteering as a Pink Lady at St. Patrick’s Hospital.  Mrs. Peoples was of Catholic faith.

She is survived by two sons, Brian Keith Trahan and wife Elaine of Lake Charles and Gerald Lynn Trahan and wife Angela of Westlake; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one brother, Howard Granger and wife Mandy of Westlake.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Peoples; one sister, Sharon Lyons and one nephew, Craig Lyons.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, September 25, 2020 at University Baptist Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Deacon Harold Nixon will officiate.  Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery.  Visitation Friday will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM in the church.
