Joyce M. Courtney Liles

Joyce Marie Courtney-Liles, 92 of Westlake, LA was called home on Tuesday, November 24, 2020.

Joyce was born on January 25, 1928 in Lake Charles, LA to Blanche and James D. Courtney Sr.

She was employed with St. Patrick Hospital where she worked as a Registered Nurse, and also worked for Dr. Hunt & Pearson. She met and married the love of her life, Lane while attending a dance at Chennault Air Force base. She welcomed four children; Linda, Gregory, Kim and Shawn. She was a proud mother to her children and a proud military wife. During his station in Guam, she joined the USO, acting as the welcoming ambassador to those arriving to their new duty station. Her hobbies were creating beautiful lace pillows and veils and she also enjoyed social outings with friends. Together they would shop till they dropped; enjoying the newest trends in clothing, purses and jewelry.

She was welcomed into Heaven by her husband; Lane Liles, her parents and her brother; James D. Courtney Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Linda (Johnny Bob) Meek, Gregory James (Judy) Montgomery, Kim Ellis and Shawn (Rebecca) Liles; her grandchildren, Derik (Dana) Ellis, Justin (Maddie) Roussell, and Paden Peterson.

She will be laid to rest at Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake, LA on Monday, November 30, 2020 under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
