Joyce "Maw" Derouen

Joyce Mae Richard DeRouen, 82, of Bell City passed away, Saturday, November 30, 2013 in a local hospital. She was born in Hayes, LA and was life resident of Bell City. Mrs. DeRoeun was a 1950 Graduate of Bell City High School which was the first graduating class that required twelve years of school for graduating. She was a member of the Calcasieu Cattlewomen Association and St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Maw DeRouen will be great missed for her unconditional love for her family and friends and strong family values. Her biggest passion was spending time with her family. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Sue Hoffpauir and husband Willie; her son, Kenneth "Bo" DeRouen and wife Sue; four grandchildren, Shane Hoffpauir, Heather Vasseur, Eric Hoffpauir and wife Jennifer, and T. J. DeRouen; three great grandchildren; Bryce Vasseur, Kyle and Hunter Hoffpauir; nephew Guy DeRouen, and caregiver Peggy Navarre. Her Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bell City. Reverend Emmanuel Tanu will officiate. Burial will be in DeRouen-Lorrain Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Monday, with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM and continue from 10:00 AM until 1:30 PM, Tuesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Medical Hospital.
