Joyce Vincent Ellender

Mrs. Joyce Vincent Ellender, 87 of Sulphur passed away on June 4, 2012 in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss, LA with Father Ernest Corriveau officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss, LA under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 5-9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Robison Funeral Home and will resume on Wednesday at 8 a.m. until time of service. Joyce was a native of Kaplan and a long-time Sulphur resident. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. She also belonged to the Catholic Daughters and the Legion of Mary Auxiliary. Joyce is survived by one daughter, Celeste Ellender of Baton Rouge, LA; eight sons, Keith Ellender and wife, Charlotte of Sulphur, Larry Ellender of Sulphur, Ron Ellender of Tallulah, LA, James Ellender of Sulphur, Randy Ellender and wife, Sharon of Carlyss, Charlie Ellender and Chet Ellender and wife, Darnell all of Carlyss, and Terry Ellender of Tallulah, LA; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her mother, Celeste Broussard Meaux; her husband, R D Ellender Jr.; and daughter, Mary Glendale Ellender Leger.
