Joycie Lou Duplechin, 78 of Sulphur passed away on October 8, 2014 in a local hospital. She was a native of Lake Arthur and a resident of Sulphur for many years. Joycie was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church. Joycie is survived by her son, Ellis Duplechin and wife Chris of Carlyss; a daughter, Penny Duplechin of Sulphur; 5 grandchildren, Krystal, Jeff, Holly, Cory and Dusty Duplechin; 4 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Lee Ella Guidry of Sulphur and Greta Desormeaux of Houston, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Virgil Duplechin; and her parents, Eulise and Rosie Dubois. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur with Father Andrews Kollannoor M.S. officiating. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 10, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. with a Cursillo Rosary at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with visitation resuming on Saturday from 8 a.m. until time of the service.
