Juanita Lantry Davis

Juanita Davis, 85, of Lake Charles, died Monday June 11, 2012 at a local hospital surrounded by her family after an extended illness.

A native of Baltimore, Maryland she resided in the Lake Charles area for most of her life. She enjoyed cooking, bowling, and especially going to the casino. The times she spent with her friends at the senior center playing games and cards were held very special to her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Jesse Davis, Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Joanne Davis; brothers, James Lantry, Bernard Lantry, and Frank Lantry.

Those left to cherish her memories are three sons, Michael Davis, Moss Bluff; Mark Davis, Jeffersonville, Indiana; and Douglas Davis, and wife Deona, Lake Charles; two daughters, Linda Mouton and husband David, Medford, Oregon; and Kathy Doise and husband Steve, Lake Charles; sisters, Margie McKee, Patsy Ryan, and Aileen Rogers; grandchildren; Shona Canter, Steven Parrish, Michael Davis, Jr., Daniel Davis, Jacob Davis, Jesse Garn, Rachael Garn, Nicole Taylor, Rebecca Taylor, Blaire Davis, Gavin Davis, Max Davis and Josie Davis; nineteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon to 3:00 PM Friday June 15, 2012 at the Johnson Funeral Home with a funeral being held at 3:00 PM. Dr. Rick Edwards will officiate. Cremation will follow services.
