Juanita Wynona Guidry Myres, 68, of Carencro, LA, died at 12:20 AM on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Myres was born November 27, 1946 in Rayville, LA and was raised in Buras, LA where she graduated high school. In 1965, she married the love of her life, Robert Amos Myres. They lived in Guam shortly after their marriage while Robert served in Vietnam. After his service ended they lived in Baytown, TX and Lake Charles. They settled in Carencro fifteen years ago. She enjoyed cooking for her family and playing card games. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor and devotion to her husband and sons. Mrs. Myres is survived by her husband, Robert Amos Myres; sons, Robert Michael Myres and wife Sarah Bratton Myres and Steven Ross Myres; granddaughter, Morgan Rae Myres, all of Carencro; two sisters, Linda Guidry Fazende and Brenda Guidry Vice, both of Lake Charles; brother, Jack Cleveland Guidry of Moss Bluff; and her mother-in-law, Rose Matthews of Logansport, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Guidry and Marie Guidry Young. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
