Judith Belle Foulk Polansky, 54, of Lake Charles passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012 in her home.

Mrs. Polansky was born in Bowling Green, OH, raised in many areas of the United States and overseas during her father's military career, and has lived 25 years in Lake Charles. Having attained a cum laude BA degree in English, she was a graduate of West Virginia University and attained her BS in Accounting and Master's degree in Education at McNeese State University. Mrs. Polansky worked 15 years with the Calcasieu Parish School Board, teaching in the English SPARK program at Bell City, Barbe, Washington-Marion and currently Sam Houston High School. During a time frame, she was commuting to two and three schools for the various block schedules. She enjoyed many crafts, scrap booking, knitting and painting. She also enjoyed working with her potted plants and traveling. She especially enjoyed spending time with and spoiling her granddaughters.

Mrs. Polansky will be most remembered for her unwavering commitment to her husband and children.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband of 33 years, John Polansky, Jr. of Lake Charles; four sons, John "Trey" Polansky, III and wife Erin of Moss Bluff, Ryan Polansky of Brusly, LA and Matt and Alex Polansky, both of Lake Charles; two grandchildren, Rylan Polansky and Samantha Polansky, of Brusly; her mother, Mary Jane Foulk of Lake Charles; two sisters, Susan Graves and husband Dr. Robert Graves of Morgantown, WV and Dr. Julie Jane Nash and husband Dr. James Nash of Exeter, NH; one brother, Col. Tom B. Foulk, III, retired and wife Judi of Washington, DC; many nieces and nephews and countless friends and co-workers.

She was preceded in death by her father, Col. Tom B. Foulk, Jr.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM Saturday, March 24, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Peter Cook will officiate. Visitation Friday will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.

Interment services will be private.

Donations may be made to the Judy Polansky Memorial Fund at Iberia Bank #20000551317. Donations will be used to establish a permanent memorial at her school.
