Judith Marie “Judy” Heflin, 77, of Friendswood, Texas, passed away suddenly on April 23, 2018 at her residence.
Judy was a native of Lake Charles, a graduate of LaGrange High School and McNeese State College with a degree in Accounting. Following her graduation from College, Judy moved to Houston where she worked for and retired form both Baylor Medical Center and Methodist Hospital. She was of the Catholic Faith and a direct descendant of Captain Daniel Goos. Judy had a great love for Chocolate Oriental cats, which she showed in cat shows in the United States and abroad.
Judy was the daughter of the late Jack and Bessie Funk Heflin. She is survived by her sister, Adella Ann “Doll” Gillentine, of Magnolia, TX; nephews, Kevin Heflin, of Friendswood and Jay Gillentine and Kyle Gillentine and his wife and children, all of Houston; great nephews, Khristopher Heflin and Caden Gillentine both of Houston; and great niece, Shelby Gillentine of Houston; and numerous cousins and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jackie Heflin.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Sunday April 29, 2018 with a funeral service following at 2:00 PM. Monsignor Harry Greig will officiate. Burial will be alongside her mother in Goos Cemetery.
