Judson Bazzle O'Brien, Jr.

December 27, 1931 — July 21, 2016

Judson Bazzle O’Brien, Jr., 84, died on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at his home in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

 

Mr. O’Brien was born in Estill, South Carolina on December 27, 1931 to Judson B. Obrien, Sr. and Ethel O’Brien.

 

Mr. O’Brien worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, Lockheed Aircraft, ARAMCO, Willbros Group, Inc. and numerous other construction and manufacturing companies. He was a graduate of Walterboro High School in South Carolina, and he earned his BS from McNeese State University in 1962.  Mr. O’Brien served in the South Carolina National Guard, and later, during the Korean War, he served in the United States Air Force.

 

Mr. O’Brien was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Lake Charles. 

 

Survivors include his wife, Alberta Arceneaux O’Brien; one daughter, Susan O’Brien Cumpton; two sons, John Scott O’Brien and Jay Paul O’Brien; five grandchildren; and one brother, Harry D. O’Brien.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a rosary at 6:00 p.m.  Visitation will resume at 9:00 am until time of service (11:00 a.m.) on Monday at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

  

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to the church or charity of your choice. The family extends their grateful appreciation to Ashley, Keissa, Erin, and Candice from Christus Hospice and Palliative Care.
