Judy Ann Gibson

Judy Ann Gibson, 78, passed away on October 3, 2023 in her home. She was born on October 15, 1944, in Lufkin, Texas, to William and Ann Bailey Birdwell.

Mrs. Gibson resided in Lake Charles most of her life, and in Moss Bluff for the past 25 years. She enjoyed traveling, watching tv and playing games on her computer. She enjoyed spending time with her family and going out to eat as often as she could. She especially looked forward to the mornings that she could go to Dynamic Dimensions gym and visit with her “gym family” who were very special to her. She will be remembered for her daily “funny” jokes.

Those left to cherish her memory are, her daughters Donna Naquin (Tony), Brenda Gibson (Anita) and Laura Kidder (Tony); her grandchildren, Matthew Soileau (Latisha), Rachel McFarland (Charles), and Haley Grant (Zachery); her great grandchildren, Madison and Carter; her brothers, Billy Birdwell (Tana), and David Birdwell (Jerene); her sister, Janette Waller; and her faithful parrotlet, Lily.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James Warren Gibson; her parents, and grandson Jerel Gutgsell.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 9, 2023 in the Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles Chapel, located at 4321 Lake Street, Lake Charles, LA. Rev. Randy Monroe will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the start of the service at 11:00 AM. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Jody George and his staff for their outstanding care for their mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
