Judy Coe Mcinnis

February 12, 1941 — February 18, 2024

Judy Coe McInnis, 83, of Big Lake passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024 in a local hospital.

Judy was born on February 12, 1941 in Lake Charles. She was a graduate of LaGrange High School, class of 1959. She was involved in many organizations and activities such as head of the Majorettes, served on Homecoming Court, was elected a LaGrange Beauty and voted Best Dressed.

After high school, Judy met and married Jim McInnis. Shortly after, they moved to New Orleans while Jim pursed his law degree. After law school, the couple moved back to Lake Charles. Judy became an active member of The Junior League, dedicating her time and service to the community. She enjoyed leisure time spent with friends playing Bridge and Mahjong. The couple moved to Pelican Point, in Big Lake, in 1989. During this time she took her love for organization and numbers to become an executive tax preparer for H&R Block.

Judy adored her Big Lake family and spent much of her time traveling and hosting parties, such as the annual Christmas Gumbo. Whether it was making a wish in the Trevi Fountain, zip lining in Costa Rica, soaking up the sun in Key West, enjoying a warm fire in Jackson Hole, taking in a Saints game with the GEAUX GEAUX Girls, or kicking back on a pontoon boat in Big Lake, Judy lived life to the fullest.

The family would like to thank Kim Moore for her loving support and care, as well as a heartfelt thanks to Cornerstone staff for their compassion.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Ashleigh Lauren McInnis Terry (Jared) of Lake Charles; sisters, Patsy Klumpp and Jackie Digiglia both of Lake Charles; brother, Tommy Coe (Hedy) of Sulphur; and three beloved granddaughters, Scarlett Terry and twins, Juliette and Cecilia Terry.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Judge James Curtis McInnis; two children, Kimberly Katherine McInnis and Ross Bailey Coe McInnis; parents, Audrey and Clyde Coe; and a sister, Betty Coe Manuel.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 24, 2024 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Steve Shirley will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.

Please consider making a donation in Judy’s name to a charity of your choosing.
