Judy Rathjen

Judy Ann Rathjen passed away in a local hospital on August 30, 2017.
Ms. Rathjen was born to Lawrence William and Eleanor Laura Grill Rathjen in Davenport, Iowa on May 11, 1946. She grew up on a farm in the state of Iowa and moved to Louisiana from Missouri in 1987. She worked for Boeing and Walmart before retiring. She loved the Lord and was a member of Victory Baptist Church and also attended Westside Baptist Church in Moss Bluff. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and being involved in the Silver Saints group at Victory Baptist Church. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and going to the movies.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Steven Rathjen (Jackie); daughter, Carolyn Miller (Scott); grandchildren, Michael Miller (Sierra), Samantha Rathjen, Aaron Miller, Jessica Rathjen, and Kristen Miller; sister, Joyce Perron (Larry); and niece, Cynthia Allman (Tim).
She was preceded in death by her parents and two nephews.
Her funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Monday September 4, 2017 at 11 AM. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery following the service. The Rev. Wayne Dartez will officiate. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Sunday September 3, 2017 from 5 PM until 8 PM and will resume on Monday from 8 AM until the start of the service.
