Julia Areno Tower

Julia Areno Tower, 92 passed away on October 18, 2014. She was a life-long resident of Westlake and a charter member of the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church in Sulphur. Julia loved to sing, work in her garden, hand crafts, and give lots of kisses and hugs. Julia is survived by her son, Wendell H. Tower, Jr. and wife Rose White Tower of Lake Charles; 2 daughters, Myrtle Tower Warden and husband Milton Warden of DeRidder and Carla Tower Doucet and husband C. A. Doucet of Carlyss; 5 grandchildren, Wendy Doucet Rogers, Craig Doucet, Joey Tower, Julia Jones Kennedy and B.J. Warden and 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Harold Areno and wife Annette of Westlake; and 2 sisters, Beulah Burnett and husband Rev. Mid Burnett of DeQuincy and Lillie Mae Burnett of Sulphur. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Henry Tower; her parents, John and Irene Vincent Areno; and her great grandson, Alexander Gage Tower. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 21, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church in Sulphur with Rev. Allan Upton officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 20, 2014 from 4-9 p.m. at the church with visitation resuming on Tuesday at 9 a.m. until time of the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Harbor Hospice Hospital, 5210 Lake St., Lake Charles, LA 70605 or to the charity of one's choice.
