Julia M. Mcdonald

Julia Marie Christine Nelsen McDonald, 94, of Lake Charles, LA died at 4:53 PM on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 in a local hospital.

Born January 2, 1917 in Avoca, NE, Mrs. McDonald lived in Nebraska for sixty-six years, moved to Florida in 1983 and has lived in Lake Charles for the past nineteen years. She will always be remembered as an independent woman, who was very devoted to her family.

Mrs. McDonald is survived by her children, Nora Crouse of Pace, FL, Barbara Ludwig and husband Larry of Avoca, NE, Robert McDonald and wife Julie and Julie Woods and husband Danny, all of Spring, TX, and Mary Hardesty and husband Dan of Lake Charles, LA; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McDonald; brother, Edward Nelsen; and parents, Marcus and Lenora Nelsen.

Her funeral service will be at Johnson Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 12, 2011. Reverend Weldon Bares will officiate. Burial will be at Avoca Cemetery in Avoca, NE, under the direction of Fussellman Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Sunday from 12:30 PM until the start of the service.
