Julie Annette Myers, 64, of Lake Charles, passed away at her home on Sunday, January 7, 2024. A native and resident of Lake Charles, Julie was born October 24, 1959, to Tedd and Lois Long.
Julie had a love of life and the people in it. Her character was defined by her nurturing spirit, love, and loyalty. As a chef she cared for family, friends, and patrons through her love of good food and even better fellowship. She always greeted you with a wide smile, kind eyes, and open arms. She played piano and sang at church, or whenever the radio played one of her many favorite songs. She was always quick with her whit, livening up most conversations, and was truly a joy to be around. Her light will live with us forever.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Loren Long and Lucas Ball; daughter, Sarah Spence; stepson, Shannon Myers; stepdaughters, Jacilyn Myers and Tonya Myers; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Ann Brittian, Pat Maywhort, Barbara Dixon, Bonnie Umphrey, Gail LeBlance, Belinda Lloyd; brother, Tedd Long.
She is preceded in death by her parents Tedd and Lois Long; husband, Donald Myers; sisters, Brenda Long, Deborah Long; brother, Berry Long, and one grandchild.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm on Friday, January 12, 2024, in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St., Lake Charles, La. 70605. Visitation will begin Friday at Johnson Funeral Home at 12:00 pm till time of service.
Cremation will be entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
