Julie Landry, aka Juju, Juju Bean, Julie Poolie, passed away following a brief illness after a long, courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis on December 22, 2024.
Born and raised in Lake Charles, she married Dennis Landry in 1983, and together they raised their two sons, Taylor and Stuart.
Throughout her life, she brought sunshine and laughter into everyone she met. A wonderful artist and woodworker, a lover of bluebirds, a darn good fisherman, a super mom, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend.
As a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven, she taught Bible studies, did RCIA, and Adoration Chapel. She also was a member of the Secular Franciscan Order. Her passion for God always showed.
Everyone who knew her has at least one story about Julie. Most of them involve laughing hard and long. Some probably include getting into some kind of trouble. Fiercely independent, incredibly funny, loving, and caring, she will be missed by so many people.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Dennis Landry; her two sons, Taylor Landry and fiancée Nicole Bopp, Stuart and Morgan Landry; her sister, Mary Gayle; brother, John Stoker; grandchildren Payton, Khloe, AnnMarie, Aubree, EllieMae, Dakota, Renee, and Drew, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her two parents, Clyde and Verde Stoker, and her brothers, Blair and Tommy Stoker.
A memorial service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be open to the public at 10:00 AM, and a reciting of the Rosary will take place at 11:30 AM.
Donations may also be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation in honor of Julie.
Godspeed, Juju. We love you.
