Karen Anne Kapp Langston Myers, 74, of Westlake passed away at 9:30 PM on Sunday, May 8, 2022.

Karen was born on February 13, 1948 in Washington DC.  She moved to Lake Charles where she was a graduate of LaGrange High School.  She attended modeling school in Dallas, TX.  She later worked as a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, for Gulf National Bank as a secretary, and self employed business owner.  Karen was fluent in shorthand writing and also typing.  She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Sulphur.

She had many hobbies and enjoyed shopping, watching true crime shows, cooking, gardening, and decorating, but most of all spending time with her family and friends.  Karen had a kind and generous heart.  She loved animals and was always willing to help others in need.  The things she valued the most were her relationship with the Lord and her three daughters.  Karen had a unique personality that offered her point of view and opinion freely and without hesitation.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Gina Barnes (Scott) of Sulphur, Christina Hebert (Daniel) of Sulphur, and Farrah Ellender of Westlake; her beloved grandchildren, Kinley and Marlie Barnes, Grace, Therese, Dean, and Camille Hebert, Jacob and Madeline Lyles, and Nicholas and Gavin Elliott; and her longtime friend, Carolyn Ardoin of Denham Springs, LA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Broussard and her parents, Caton and Grace Langston and Margaret Kapp.

A funeral mass will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Sulphur.  The Rev. Edward Richard will officiate.  Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Friday beginning at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests masses to be said in her honor or donations to the Hobo Hotel.
