Karen Faye Jackson

May 23, 1949 — September 18, 2017

Karen Faye Jackson of Lake Charles, LA went to be with her Lord on Monday, September 18, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Ms. Jackson was born on May 23, 1949, in Jennings, LA to Elry and Elsie Simar LeBert.

Karen was the pastoral secretary at Boulevard Baptist Church for 22 years before retiring. She loved to garden and work with her hands making all kinds of artwork. She was the kind of person who would drop whatever she was doing to help anyone. Her family called her the rock and glue – she brought them together and held them together. Karen especially enjoyed her time with her family.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Donna Jackson and her sister, Sheila Esthay.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Kelley (Jeff) Thacker and Damon Jackson. Those who will especially miss her are her grandchildren, Jamie Thacker and Megan Jackson, as well as her great grandchildren, Delilah Jackson and Bailie and Abel Muehlberger.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2017, at Boulevard Baptist Church, 3007 Enterprise Blvd. in Lake Charles, LA at 2PM. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.

The family would like to express thanks to their church and its wonderful members for not only giving Karen a spiritual home but also a loving and caring extended family. They would also like to thank Karen’s friends for their help and support.   Most importantly, they want to give thanks to their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for giving them the precious years with Karen. God has never promised us that life would be easy, just one that would be worth living.
