Karen Knowles

Karen Deloris Knowles, 67, of Welsh passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.  Mrs. Knowles was born on February 7, 1953 to Bennie and Lillie Smith in Nicholls, Ga. and raised in Brunswick, Ga.

Karen was a very dedicated Nurse Practitioner with a Master’s Degree.  Mrs. Knowles was well educated and a hard worker who loved her profession. Karen brought home every stray animal and took care of them.  She enjoyed painting, sewing and home décor. She was an active member of her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Bennie Smith and brother Keith Smith. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 49 years, Wayne Knowles; daughter, Amber Elwood and husband Neil; grandchildren, Emily, Matthew, Ashley, Isaac and Jonathan Elwood; her mother, Lillie Smith; siblings, Bettie Anderson, Shelia Pittman and Brian Smith.

Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.
