Karen Roche McBroom, 40, of Lake Charles passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015 in Baytown, TX. "They were Angels on Earth long before they arrived in Heaven, and once at the pearly gates, they received their wings." Karen was born and raised in Lake Charles and was a graduate of LaGrange High School. She attended college to further her studies. She worked several years as an Admitting Clerk at St. Patrick's Hospital, a clerk for Dr. Dean Moore and as a bookkeeper for a CPA firm in Hawaii. Karen was always spontaneous, loved to travel and followed her sister Renee's military career to live in Honolulu, Hawaii, Boston, MA, Colorado Springs, CO Nashville, TN. Karen will be remembered as very humble and for her kind, generous nature, gypsy spirit, love of life and love of family. She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Thomas Christian Sage Blackwood of Smerna, GA; one sister, Laurie Roche O'Quinn and husband Bryan of Lake Charles; fiancé, Bryan Gregg of Lake Charles ; brother, Randall Joseph Roche and wife Kim of Norfolk, England half brother, Scott Loftin and wife Kathy of Dry Creek; half sister, Donna Matte and husband Rex of Lake Charles; three nephews, Landen O'Quinn of Lake Charles; Daniel Lee Roche of Norfolk, England and Jacoby C. Baxley Selma, NC and three nieces, Peyton O'Quinn of Lake Charles; Alicia Marie Roche of Norfolk, England and Skylar M. Baxley of Lake Charles. Funeral services will be at 11:00 Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Trinity Baptist Church. Reverend Steve James will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation Thursday will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service at Trinity Baptist Church.
