Karen Sandifer

Karen Sandifer, 68, of Orange, TX passed away on February 19, 2025, in a local care facility. Karen was born in Sulphur, LA on December 18, 1956, to Ludren and Lillie Vice. She loved being around her family and friends. She worked for Sulphur Police Department in dispatch and Calcasieu Parish School Board as a Teachers Aid at Jake Drost School for exceptional children where she retired. Karen was a lifelong resident of Sulphur.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 25 years, Michol Sandifer; two children, Derrick Fontenot and wife Melanie and Aiyana Sandifer; grandchildren, Roxy Fontenot and Joseph Gautreaux; siblings, Geraldine Vice Toscino, Wayne Joseph Vice, and Dennis Michael Vice. 

She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Marlene Vice Doyle, and Curtis James Vice. 

Visitation will begin from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur, LA. Cremation following visitation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Family Association.
