Katherine Fontenot

Katherine Marie Venable Fontenot, 61, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 12:51 PM on Friday, January 15, 2021 in a local hospital.

Born June 7, 1959 in Jennings, LA, Mrs. Fontenot was a 1977 graduate of South Beauregard High School and lived all her adult life in Lake Charles.  Her career was in banking, retiring ten years ago to be closer to family.  She was a member of Victory Baptist Church and loved spending time with her church family.  She also enjoyed traveling, spending time with her grandchildren, and visiting with her friends.

Mrs. Fontenot is survived by her husband of forty-three years, Louis Fontenot, Jr.; daughter, Janeé Swire and husband Justin; grandchildren, Ava and Austin; and her many friends, cousins, and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jefferson and Ella Mae Venable; and brother, Calvin Venable, Sr.

Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.  *Masks are required and respect social distancing.*  Brother Wayne Dartez will officiate.  Burial will follow in Creel Memorial Gardens in Reeves, LA.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
