Katherine Jean "Katie" Bradbury Beard

Katherine Jean “Katie” Bradbury Beard, 39, of Grand Lake, LA, died on Friday, July 29, 2016 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Beard was born August 15, 1976 in Denver, CO and attended Westlake High School.  She worked at Delta Downs as a waitress for over nine years.  She attended Jubilee Family Church in Moss Bluff.  Katie enjoyed working out, cooking and loved to hike in the mountains.  Her bubbly personality and generous spirit will be remembered by all who loved her.  She always had a smile through the pain.

Mrs. Beard is survived by her husband of five years, Kurt Beard; sons, Shannon Bradbury and fiancé, Lauren Firmin of Lake Charles and Holdan Beard of Blanco, TX; mother, Lynn Bradbury of Westlake, LA; father, Don Bradbury and wife Therese of South Dakota; sisters, Tracy Carter and husband Jerome of Oak Grove, LA and Yvette Bradbury of Carencro, LA; niece Lauren Carter and nephew Brandyn Carter and her beloved dogs.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.  Reverend Mike Robinson will officiate.  Burial will follow in Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
