Shirley Bond, 77, of Lake Charles went home to her Lord and Savior after a valiant fight with lung cancer. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family on, Monday, March 3, 2014. She was a native of Maplewood, MO and moved to Lake Charles at the age of nine. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt, whom cherished her time with her family most of all. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and painting and looked forward to her annual trips to Branson, MO. Shirley leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters; Cathy (Ed) Perry of Ragley, LA; Cindy (Dale) Menard of Sulphur, LA, and one son, Corey Bond of Lake Charles, LA; six grandchildren, Mandi (Michael) Boyette, Cody Perry, Brandi (Hunter) Ray; Christian Perry, Matthew Bond and Jason (Dee) Menard; four great grandchildren, Hayden and Carson Boyette, Talin Ray and Jaden Menard; one sister, Diane Thibodeaux of Lake Charles; two brothers, Mike (Gwen) Queenan of Sulphur, and Rick (Linda) Queenana of Lake Charles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Judge W. Ellis Bond and her parents, Ed and Isabelle Queenan. Her funeral will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 7, 2014 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Dale Nazworth will officiate. Burial will be in High Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and continue from 8:00 AM until time of service, Friday, in the funeral home. The family would like to thank all the family, friends, and the staff at the Heart of Hospice for the loving care given to her.
