Katherine Spears Plummer

Katherine Ann Spears Plummer, 62, of Iowa, LA passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012 in the comfort of her home.

Mrs. Plummer was born in Jennings, LA, raised and educated in Lake Charles and has lived the past thirty years in Iowa. She formerly worked as a Respiratory Therapist for West Calcasieu-Cameron Hospital and was an aide to Handicap children on school busses for Calcasieu Parish. Mrs. Plummer was an avid reader and a gifted "speed reader". She will be most remembered for her love of family and as a loving and devoted grandmother.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of thirty five years, Terry Wade Plummer of Iowa; two daughters, Missy Stanford and Monica LaCombe, both of Lake Charles; one son, Terry Wayne Plummer and fiance' Candice LeBlanc of Lake Charles; her mother, Belle Comeaux Spears of Lake Charles; seven grandchildren, Dustin Stanford, Halie Stanford, Ariel Thigpen, Gage Thigpen, Tyler Wayne Plummer, Sydney Marie Garcia and Trevor Wade Plummer; sister, Debbie Franklin and husband Glen of Moss Bluff; lifelong friend, Tricia Booth of Dequincy and her "baby dog", Chico.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Spears, Sr. and brother, Jimmy Spears.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 27, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Chris Fuselier will officiate. Interment will follow in Derouen-Lorraine Cemetery in Hayes. Visitation Saturday will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue Sunday from 12:00 PM until the time of service in the funeral home.
