Katheryn "Kat" Dawn Brown

Katheryn "Kat" Dawn LaFleur Brown, 38 of Lake Charles, passed away suddenly Saturday, May 24, 2014 in her residence. Kat was born on August 24, 1975 in Lafayette, LA and was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. She attended St. Margaret Catholic Church, F.K. White Middle School and was a 1993 graduate of Barbe High School. She graduated Delta Tech for Administrative Assistant. She was employed at New Beginnings of Moss Bluff for many years, where she enjoyed helping and serving others. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jeffrey Rion Brown of Lake Charles, LA; parents, Farnell and Dawn LaFleur of Lake Charles, LA; two brothers, James LaFleur and wife Penny of Sulphur, LA and John LaFleur and wife Jennifer of Sulphur, LA; nephews, Aaron, Tyler, and Dillon of Sulphur, LA; and niece, Ashlyn of Sulphur, LA; significant other, Joey Tero of Lake Charles, LA; and loving dog, Baby Girl. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Father Jeff Starkovich will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 11:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home with a Rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue Wednesday at 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM.
