Kathleen Jean Pennick

Kathleen Jean Pennick, 78, of Lake Charles, was received in the arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday morning, January 10, 2014 at a local hospital. Kathleen was a native of Lake Charles and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to so many in the community. A Christian and a member of Covenant Grace Church, she was strong in her faith and was a true prayer warrior. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton George and Jessie Viola Faulk Hoffpauir, infant daughter, Eileen Ruth Pennick, sister, Audrey Triplett, brother C.J. Hoffpauir and sister-in-law, Dorothy Hoffpauir. Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 54 years, Glen Leon Pennick; children: Marla Pennick, Lake Charles, Geneva Clarkson and husband Bob, Lake Charles, and Doyle Pennick and wife Kim, Sulphur; grandchildren: Clint Pennick and wife Kristy, Mandy Pennick, Paige Weaver and husband Chris, Brian Pennick and wife Lauren, Kristen Fruge and husband Jacob, Stephen Pennick and Chad Clarkson; ten great-grandchildren; siblings: Norman Hoffpauir, Neva Lane Hoffpauir, and Haywood Hoffpauir and wife Helen and sister-in-law, Pat Hoffpauir. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday January 14, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday January 15, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Joel Faulk officiating. Burial will be at Prien Memorial Gardens. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the compassionate, faithful, and Godly care shown to Kathleen and her entire family during her final days by Dr. Michael Seep, Dr. Ben Thompson and Unit 43 of Christus St. Patrick Hospital.
