Kathryn Louzell Dewey Williams, 90, of Lake Charles died Sunday, May 01, 2011 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Williams was born on July 4, 1920, raised and educated in Merryville, LA. She shared a lifetime of adventure with her husband, living throughout the United States, Japan, Italy and Germany during his twenty years of service to the US Army. They then settled in Lake Charles where she has lived for fifty years. Mrs. Williams greatly enjoyed painting, gardening and flower arranging.
She will be remembered for her tireless service to many civic organizations. Mrs. Williams was a devoted member of University United Methodist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, James F. Williams, III and wife Patricia of Kenner, LA, and Robert J. Williams and wife Kammy of Lake Charles; one daughter, Kathryn L. Williams, M.D. and husband Mariano Martin of Ann Arbor, MI; six grandchildren, Thomas, Margaret, Kira, Jessica, Kilah and Gavin Williams and one brother, Lloyd Dewey and wife Joyce of St. Paul, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty- six years, James F. Williams, Jr.; her parents and four brothers.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 7, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Phil Carpenter, of Lake Charles Bible Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Merryville Cemetery. Visitation Friday will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
