Kathryn Nanette "Katy" Reeves

Kathryn Nanette Reeves, lovingly known as “Katy”, 62, of Deridder went to be with Jesus at 12:40 PM on Friday, August 6, 2021, in a local hospital.

She was a loving wife, devoted mother (always called “Mama”), and a proud mawmaw. 

Mrs. Reeves was born on April 24, 1959, in Lake Charles and was a graduate of Westlake High School.  She later moved to Reeves where she lived for 14 years.  Mrs. Reeves then moved to Tulsa, OK where she attended Rhema Bible College before settling in Deridder in 1996 where she and her husband pastored Beauregard Worship Center since 2012. 

She loved to cook for others, and she could often be found decorating her home.

Those left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 41 years, Larry Reeves of Deridder; daughter, Kacy Dickens (Larry) of Deridder; sons, J.T. Reeves (Nicole) of Deridder and John Paul Reeves (Kelsey) of Grandlake; mother, Linda Todd of Westlake; sisters, Donna Todd and Micki Todd of Deridder and Mollie Todd of Westlake; brother, Dan Todd of Westlake; 14 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her daddy, Clarence “Jack” Todd, Jr.; her son, Joshua Reeves; her grandfathers, Clarence Todd, Sr. and Wallace “Preacher” Hebert; her grandmothers, Kathryn Todd and Nannie Lock Hebert.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Christway Church, 207 Lawlis Rd., Deridder, LA 70634.  The Rev. David Norsworthy will officiate with assistance from Rev. Kennis Smith and Rev. Vic Warrick.  Burial will follow in Creel Cemetery in Bel, LA under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff.  Visitation will begin in the church on Monday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will resume on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
