Keith M. Brashear, 72, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023. He was born on September 28, 1951 to Herbert and Jean Richard Brashear in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Keith spent most of his time in the Sweetlake/Big Lake area with his grandparents, Gladys and Nolton Richard and Agnes and Absie Duhon. He developed his strong work ethic in both rice farming and working cattle from an early age. He retired from Lyondell Basell (Hercules) as an operator after 37 years of service. His passions were all outdoor activities including riding horses, hunting and rodeos where he spent many years as a rodeo clown. Keith had a tender heart with a soft spot for animals. Most of all he cherished his family, friends and especially his one and only grandson, Trenton, whom he called “My Little Boy.”
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Jody Brashear (Kristi); his grandson, Trenton Brashear; his former wife and mother of his son, Pam Brashear; his brothers, Kurt Brashear (Rhonda), Bobby Brashear (Barbara); and his brother-in-law, Steve Rossiter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brother, Bennie Brashear and sister, Billie Brashear Rossiter.
His funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 5, 2024 in the Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles Chapel, located at 4321 Lake St., Lake Charles, LA.
