Kelly Bowman

November 27, 1973 — February 20, 2023

Kelly Bowman was the youngest of his nine siblings. He was born in Houston, Texas on November 27, 1973.

He was a city boy and proclaimed he was NOT a carpenter. Working on cars and trucks was his first love and it began alongside his stepfather, Steve Lambert. Grease was his cologne; he wore it daily.

Following school, he obtained his associates degree in automotive mechanics and built a reputation for being the man who could fix almost anything.

His nature did not match his stature, and his huge heart left everything else in its shadow. He was normally quiet, but could make the entire room erupt in laughter with his occasional one liners. He was a master in his craft, yet remained humble, never snubbing his nose at those who needed help the most. He often said he would work for free should it provide for his family. He worked alongside Wesley Blanchard in his auto shop in Grand Lake for many years.

He and Denise met and shared over ten wonderful years together, she was the love of his life. He lived to make her happy, they exchanged vows on her favorite holiday, Halloween. So October 31, 2018 in the Lake Charles Spirit Halloween they wed.

He lived life to the fullest, he believed in quality over quantity. When he was not working, he enjoyed leisure rides on his Harley, often taking a break at the gun club to visit with Lee and Nikki. He also enjoyed late nights on the river, visiting with friends and enjoying good conversation.

He was welcomed into Heaven, Monday, February 20, 2023 by his parents; James Perry Bowman and Edna Earl Lambert; brother, William Baker; step-father, Steve Lambert; and his friend whom he considered family, Wesley Blanchard.

Those left to cherish his memory; his beloved wife, Denise Bowman; children, William Bowman and Morgan Silcock; grandson, Benjamin; siblings, Sammy (Linda) Baker, Robert Baker, Johnny Baker, Joyce Fredieu, Cindy (Jerry) Collins, Kay G Borel, and Wayne; numerous nieces, nephews, and Xavier Ecter, who looked up to him like a father; parents in-love, David and Sherry Hollis; his chosen family; Christina (George) Ondier and Sarah (Brooklyn) Hollis, Nikki Perkins & partner Ron Turner, LaQuinta Johnson and husband David, Pat Blanchard and family.
