Kenneth B. Holland, 85, of Lake Charles passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014 in the comfort of his home. Mr. Holland was born in Charleston, MS, raised in the surrounding areas of Mississippi and has lived nearly fifty years in Lake Charles. In 1946, he joined the Army Air Corps, having served Korea and Vietnam as a Flight Engineer and having been stationed throughout the United States and countless foreign countries. He served twenty years, retiring a Tech Sergeant with the United States Air Force. Mr. Holland then began his career with Hercules as a Mill Wright retiring with thirty years of service. He enjoyed working around the house, gardening and was talented in wood working. Mr. Holland was an admirable man of courage, strength and integrity. He devoted his life and his love to his family. He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of sixty-two years, Mary Napp Holland of Lake Charles; three children, Keith G. Holland and wife Nelda of Lake Charles; Brad Holland and wife Karen of Baton Rouge and Mary Findley and husband Al of Iowa; five grand children and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, February 24, 2014 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Chaplain Tom Bruce will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Monday will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
