Kenneth Harold Myers

Kenneth Harold Myers, 75, of Grand Lake, LA, died at 10:45 PM on Monday, February 15, 2016 at his residence.

Mr. Myers was born November 14, 1940 in Magee, MS and was a graduate of Petal High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army and has lived in the Grand Lake / Sweetlake community for the past forty-nine years. Mr. Myers worked in the trucking industry for the past forty-five years and was the owner / operator of Myers Transport, Inc for over twenty five years. He was a dedicated worker who loved his wife and family dearly. He also loved his dogs and enjoyed flying airplanes and tending to his hay patch.

Mr. Myers is survived by his wife of fifty years, Peggy Theriot Myers; son, Danny Myers and wife Cherié of Grand Lake; grandchildren, Alex, Sydney and Reed Myers; sisters, Clara Myers Capps of Jasper, TX and L. Sue Marcoulier of Bellville, TX; brother, James Douglas Myers of Fort Brag, CA; special niece and nephew, Gina Jory of Baton Rouge, LA and Bryan Theriot of Grand Lake, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Virgie Myers; brother, Truett Franklin “Buck” Myers; and sisters, Louise Green and Bonnie Brown.

His funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 18, 2016 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
