Kenneth J. Guarino

Kenneth J. Guarino, 76, of Brandon, MS died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 in his residence.

Kenneth was born on August 13, 1934 in Abbeville, LA to Joseph "Buck" Guarino and Thelma Guarino. Mr. Guarino lived most of his life in the Lake Charles, LA area. He was a graduate of Lake Chares High School. Mr. Guarino was a 34 year veteran of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Department. He was a member of the Louisiana Peace Officer Association and the Louisiana Sheriff's Association. Mr. Guarino was a 1981 recipient of the Outstanding Officer Award.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Basco Guarino, one brother, John W. Guarino both of Lake Charles.

He is survived by one daughter Deborah Guarino of Houston, TX, three sons: Michael Guarino and wife Christina of Brandon, MS, Stephen Guarino and wife Lenka of Lawrenceville, GA, Gregory Guarino and wife Kimberly of Covington, LA and six grandchildren.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 11:00AM from the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ronnie Estes will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Friday December 17, 2010 at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue at 8:00 AM on Saturday until the time of services.
