Kenneth Ken Wayne Johnson

Kenneth Wayne "Ken" Johnson, 54, of Kilgore, TX died at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 in a Texas hospital.

Mr. Johnson was born in Lake Charles on January 2, 1957 and lived here until moving to Texas 8 years ago. He was a 1974 graduate of LaGrange High School and in his earlier years served as an altar server at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Mr. Johnson was a salesman for oilfield equipment rental companies and was a past car salesman. He recently opened and operated "Who Dat" Butcher Shop in Kilgore, TX.

He enjoyed life and was an avid outdoorsman who loved horses. He also liked cooking.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Crystal McDaniel and her children, Skyler, Tiffanie, Jazmyne, Alyssa, Kaitlyn, and Destiny all of Minden, LA; his son, Justin Johnson and his children, Hunter and Kayleigh all of Minden, LA; his mother and step father, Gennieve Lognion and Euclide of Lake Charles; his companion, Joycelyn Clark of Sulphur; three siblings, Gerald Johnson of Welsh, Shirley Peek of Gillis, and Greg Johnson of Lake Charles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony "Tony" Johnson; a nephew, Randall Johnson; and his Godmother, Della Bellon.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 10, 2011 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. The Rev. Nathan Long will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being held at 5:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until 9:45 AM in the funeral home.
