Kenneth Lee Derouen

September 25, 1947 — July 2, 2012

Kenneth Lee DeRouen, 64, of Lake Charles passed away at 10:25 PM, Monday, July 2, 2012 in a local hospital.


He was a native and life resident of Lake Charles and a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Mr. DeRouen owned and operated Howard Trucking Terminal, Gator Mobile Home and KD's Construction. He also managed Black Gold Express and Acme Truck Lines for several years.


Survivors include his wife, Elaine Benoit DeRouen; daughter, Vanessa DeRouen Courville and husband Troy; son, Kevin Lee DeRouen and fiance'e Jody Racca; grandchildren; Zachary Allen and Brandy Lynn Courville, Kendell Lee and Kaley Victoria DeRouen, and River Racca; one great granddaughter, Jayden Maliegh Faul; and one brother, Ricky Derouen and wife Denise Carrier Derouen; nephews and also God Sons: Rockey Allen Breaux and Kristopher Lee Derouen; nieces Sabrena Blay and Katie Lynn Derouen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vergie J. "V. J." DeRouen and Anna Mae Bordes DeRouen; and one sister, Peggy Derouen.


His funeral will be Friday, July 6, 2012 at 11:00 AM, in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Wayne LeBleu will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM and continue on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of service in the funeral home.
