Kenneth Michael “Mike” Kline, 66, of Lake Charles, LA, died on Monday, October 16, 2017 in his residence.
Mike was born September 1, 1951 in Lake Charles, LA, was a 1969 graduate of Sulphur High School and attended McNeese State University. Throughout the years, he worked for IMTC, Benton Equipment, as a self employed building contractor, Boots Smith and most recently worked for Troy Construction. He loved fishing, woodworking and enjoyed hunting. He also loved to watch the birds in his back yard and will be remembered as a wonderful master finish carpenter.
Mike is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Linda B. Kline; step-sons, Phil Fontenot and wife Brandy of Lake Charles, Kenny Fontenot and wife Marla of Moss Bluff and Tommy Fontenot and wife Shawnya of Moss Bluff; eight grandchildren; sister, Linda A. Cooley of Lake Charles; niece, Leah Broussard and husband Jeremy; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Glyn Ann Kline; and niece, Tracy Cooley.
His memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Ronnie Burke will officiate. A gathering of family members and friends will be at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
