Kenneth Raymond Leger, 71, of Sulphur, LA passed away Monday, December 07, 2020, surrounded by his family.

Mr. Leger, born in Lake Charles, was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles and Sulphur.  He was a graduate of LaGrange High School and studied at McNeese State University.  He worked his fifteen years as an operator in at Firestone Polymers and retired with twenty years with Crying Eagle Construction as a Refinery Contractor.  Mr. Leger was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was also an avid fan of the LSU Tigers, McNeese State Cowboys, Sulphur Golden Tors and Nascar Racing.  He was a gifted artist and skilled craftsman with most anything when working with his hands; woodworking design and painting, was his specialty.  His greatest times were shared with his sons, following his grandchildren to every sporting or extracurricular event they attended and traveling with his wife to plantations and vacations throughout.  Mr. Leger will be most remembered for his love and devotion to his family and as “always being there” for his family, friends, anyone who needed him, often without being asked.

He leaves to honor his memory, his wife of forty-five years, Marcell Evans Leger of Sulphur; two sons, Kenneth Norman Leger and wife Stephanie of Lake Charles and Scott Jamison Leger and wife Rachel of Fort Worth, TX; five grandchildren, Keighly Paige Leger, Kolby Scott Leger, Keaton James Sonnier, Leah Caroline Leger and Lawson Scott Leger; three sisters, Sharon Hearn and husband Wayne, Vickie Welch and Veronica Gaspard and husband Randy, all of Lake Charles; brother-in-law, Bo Evans and wife Maggie of Atlanta, GA; Godchild, Kayla Bellard; many nieces and nephews and dear friends, Glenn Smith and John Michael Bonner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gurfy Joseph Leger and Ethel Marie Fontenot Leger; brother, Gurfy Joseph Leger, Jr.; and two brothers-in-law, Jim Welch and Jimmy Trahan.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, December 11, 2020 at Lake City Baptist Church.  Reverend Dwayne Hyatt and Minister in Training Scott Leger will officiate.  Interment services will be private at Highland Memorial Park.  Visitation Thursday will be from 5:00 PM until 8:30 PM and will continue Friday at 9:00 AM until the time of service in the church.
