Kenneth Ted "Kenny" Rosfeld, 69, of Lake Charles entered into rest, Friday, November 25, 2011 in a local hospital with his family by his side.
Kenny was a life long resident of Lake Charles. He was a graduate of LaGrange High School and attended McNeese State University where he was a member of the R.O.T.C. program. He was a Charter member of Fairview United Methodist Church, a member of Calcasieu Parish Farm Bureau Association and Ducks Unlimited. Kenny worked all of his life as a Rice and Soybean farmer in South Lake Charles. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, sports and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Kenny, affectionately known as "Poppy", was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother with an overwhelming love for his family and friends.
He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of forty years, Remona "Dee" Ash Rosfeld of Lake Charles; three children, Marla Sue Rosfeld Kjerulff and husband Paul and Kenneth Shane "Ken" Rosfeld, both of Lake Charles and Shawna Nicole Rosfeld Roussell and husband Eric of Grand Lake; six grandchildren, Lauren Kjerulff Brown and husband Jamie and Lindsey Kjerulff, both of Lake Charles and Blake Rosfeld, Harrison Rosfeld, Tyler Rosfeld and Logan Roussell, all of Grand Lake; one great-grandchild, Westin Brown of Lake Charles; one sister, Janice Rosfeld Reddoch and husband Rodney and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Gracie Hebert Rosfeld.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, November 28, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David Dewitt will officiate. Interment will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation Sunday will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
