Kenneth Walter Hagan

Kenneth Walter Hagan 69, of Lake Charles passed away Friday, February 01, 2013 in the comfort of his home.


Mr. Hagan was born November 24, 1943 in Pueblo, CO. He has lived the past 35 years in Lake Charles. Ken owned and operated Lake Charles Heating and Cooling, Lake Charles Sheet Metal and Lake Charles Construction. His greatest accomplishment was building the Player Island Complex for Players Riverboats in 1995. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren; at his camp on the river and taking road trips.


He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of 46years, Janet Bitting Hagan and their three children: Toby W. Hagan and wife Joanna and their children, Justin and Tyler of Lake Charles; daughter, Julie Williams and husband Bryan and their children, Dustin and David Williams and wife Crystal, all of Thornwell and daughter, Jenny Fletcher and husband Troy and her children, Ashley Benoit and Joshua Benoit and wife Cassie, all of Lake Charles. He also leaves his sister, Shirley Stone and sons, Jimmy, Danny, and Earl, Jr., all of Pueblo, CO; sister-in-law, Delores Hagan and her children, Crystal Mallet, Clayton Hagan and wife Jennifer and four great-grandchildren, Hayden Benoit, Emma and Nicholas Williams and Aubree Guillory.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ida Hagan, a brother, Christopher Hagan and a half sister, Dorothy.


In respect of Mr. Hagan's wishes, Graveside services will be a private family gathering.


His family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Ron Lewis, Jr. and staff, Dr. John Heymach and staff at M.D. Anderson in Houston, the staff of Heart of Hospice and his nurse, Patra Wilson for their excellence in compassion, care and concern.
