Kenneth Wayne Kennedy

Kenneth Wayne Kennedy, 84, of Sulphur, LA entered his eternal home on September 22, 2023. He was born June 25, 1939 in Novice, Texas to Martin and Merle (Coward) Kennedy.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Martin Kennedy and Merle (Coward) Kennedy; and his stepson, Billy Brewer.

Ken served 4 years in the U S Navy and was assigned as a first Crewmember on the USS Enterprise. He married his wife of 30 years, Jean Brewer in October of 1978. They spent many years traveling and camping. Ken took loving care of his “Sweet Jeanie” as she battled cancer, until her death in March of 2009.

He was a long-time resident of Bryan, Texas where he retired from the Mobile Home industry. His expertise was in the delivery, set-up and mobile home warranty work.

Ken was an active member of Olivet Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing, teaching, operating the sound system and serving where needed. He enjoyed his many church friends who were like family to him.

Survivors include his sister, Rita Rouse (Roland); his daughter, Kristen Tweedy (Troy); step-daughter, Debbie Adams (John); step-daughter, Vicki Plauche (Andy); numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home, 107 W. Napoleon St. Sulphur, LA on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. with visitation from 9:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Kevin Craft, Pastor of Olivet Baptist Church will be officiating. Following funeral services burial will be at Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss, LA under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Pall-bearers will be Glen Balusek, Glenn Medrano, Jason Plauche, Jody Plauche, Justin Adams and Joey Brewer.

The family would like to thank Dr. Langhofer, the wonderful caring staff at the Gardens, and Harbor Hospice, also the Fuller project and the many devoted friends who visited and prayed for him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Olivet Baptist Church, Sulphur, LA or to your favorite charity.
