Kermit James Broussard, 53, of Lake Charles died at 3:35 PM on Thursday, March 28, 2013 in a local care facility.
Mr. Broussard was born on October 29, 1959 in Lake Charles where he was a lifelong resident. He attended LaGrange High School. Mr. Broussard worked most of his life as a carpenter in the construction industry.
He was an avid motorcycle fan and enjoyed motorcycle riding. His favorite trip taken was in 2010 to Sturgis. Mr. Broussard had a huge heart and will be remembered for his generosity.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Nakita Doucet and husband Todd of Grand Lake; three brothers, Warren Broussard and wife Debbie of Lake Charles, Clay Broussard and wife Pat of Pearl, MS, and Stephen Broussard of Lake Charles; a sister, Wendelyn Wendy Lopez of Lake Charles; three grandsons, Kylin Broussard, and Brycen and Dallas Doucet; an uncle, Abbie Joseph Higginbotham of Lake Charles; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eula Mae and George Russell Broussard.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Open Gate Cowboy Church on Tom Hebert Rd. Dr. Mark Stagg will officiate. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
