Kevin Douglas Cox

July 29, 1954 — September 22, 2011

Kevin Douglas Cox, husband, father, brother, friend and healer has gone to be with the Lord. He has bravely fought the battle and has earned his just reward.

Kevin was born July 29, 1954 at the US Naval hospital at Yokosuka, Japan. He began his new life with the Lord September 22, 2011. Kevin was always a man with a mission. He attacked every task with zeal and earnest. He was a compassionate healer of the body as he helped many people with physical afflictions. He worked as a chiropractic physician for over 21 years.

More importantly he was a spiritual healer as he worked tirelessly for the Lord in his medical mission work with the Friendships organization. He retired from his private practice recently to devote his full energy to the medical mission field. He made numerous trips with the Friendships organization delivering help and God's word to the afflicted across the world. This work was his passion.

Kevin truly followed the commission that Christ gave us in the Gospel according to Matthew "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit"

Kevin was a graduate of Lagrange High School, where he would become an All State trombone player as a sophomore. He also toured in Canada with an All American band. He received two degrees from McNeese State University and earned his Doctor of Chiropractic medicine from the Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena Texas.

Kevin was active in church activities throughout the Lake area. He was always available to people in need and never hesitated in providing aid and comfort to anyone that asked. Kevin's hard work and Biblical understanding will be missed by those that knew him.

Kevin is survived by his wife Rebekah Ellison Cox, daughter Kaci Jane Cox, and his son Luke Angelle Cox all of Lake Charles. He is also survived by a brother, Charles "Sharkey" Cox and wife Mary of Lake Charles and a sister, Laura Jane Jordan and husband Marc, of Austin Texas.

He was preceeded in death by his mother Ima Jane Crosby Cox and father Charles Bradbury Cox.

Kevin wanted to share this passage from Romans Chapter 8 with us,

in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
