Kevin F. "Goat" Gauthreaux, 55, died Friday, November 25, 2011 in his home surrounded by his family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Kevin joined the U.S. Navy immediately after graduating from LaGrange Sr. High School. Kevin was an automotive technician by trade. He was also a "jack of all trades". He was a very witty and generous person. He was a "give you the shirt off his back" type of man. Kevin was manager of John's Cheveron and later he became the owner. He also worked several years at Mark Dodge.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Doucett Gauthreaux; two sons, Chris Gauthreaux Sr. and wife Heather of Sulphur and Justin Gauthreaux of Lake Charles; two grandchildren, Avril and Christopher Gauthreaux both of Sulphur; mother, Mary Elwanda Gauthreaux of Sulphur; brothers, Dale Sr. and wife Edie Gauthreaux of Starks, Jeff and wife Susan Gauthreaux of Lake Charles, and Barton and wife Paula Gauthreaux of Gates, North Carolina; sisters, Terri and husband Pete Brown of Sulphur and Margaret and husband Jay Simmons of Starks; many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his father, L.V. Gauthreaux.
A private memorial will be held at a later date. Cremation is entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
