Kim Austin

Kim Austin, 62, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 in a local hospital.

Kim was born on July 13, 1959 in Crowley, LA to John Beard and Cinella Harris.

She loved her family and enjoyed cooking, listening to classic rock music, and working in her yard. She worked at Waffle House as a waitress for many years. She was both an LSU mom and fan.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Chad Desormeaux (Brenna), Allen Desormeaux (Ashley), and Chris Austin; grandchildren, Taylor Desormeaux, Carter Desormeaux, Shelby Dyson, Austin Dyson, and Savanna Dyson; mother, Cinella Harris; brothers, Wade Beard (Dina) and Randy Dronet (Becky); niece, Abigail Dronet; nephew, Christian Beard; and beloved dog, Alvin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Austin; biological father, John Beard; step-father, Charles Dronet.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at University Baptist Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Kathy Whittington will officiate. Burial will follow the service in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held at University Baptist Church Friday, December 3, 2021 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will resume Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
