Kit Fleig died on June 6th, 2016 in her home surrounded by loved ones. She led a full life among her friends and admirers. Her kindness still influences those who knew her over the years. Kit and her husband, Brooks Fleig, founded the Shepherd’s Rest back in 1975 where they were able to minister to numerous individuals and families.
Kit was born, Catherine Flood in 1938 in San Antonio, Texas. She attended Providence High School and then earned her Bachelors Degree in Clothing Design at Texas Women’s University. Kit was an awarded designer, a world traveler, pioneer SCUBA diver, an actress, a worship leader, and published writer. Yet even with all of these accolades, her finest role was wife, mother, and friend. Her warm smile and loving touch will be missed by all.
She is survived by her son, Russell C. Fleig and wife Karen and her daughter, Cam Sharpe and husband Larry; six grandsons, Beau, Zack, Connor, Kyle, Andrew, and Sam; her sister, Barbara Flood; and her niece, Donna Grubb. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brooks Fleig; parents, Alton and Catherine Flood.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 6 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with a gathering from 2:30 P.M. until time of service.
