Kody Matthew Harvey

On Monday, December 11th, 2017, our beloved son, husband, brother, uncle, godfather, and friend Kody Matthew Harvey, 23, of Lake Charles Louisiana, lost his valiant fight with cancer. He fought a good fight until the end, but we know that he earned his wings to fly to Heaven.

He was born to Randy and Tia Harvey on October 24th, 1994 in Camp Pendleton California. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Kira Harvey, his parents, Randy Harvey and Tia, his siblings, Kristen Lemke, Dayton Lemke, and Brianna Harvey, his nephews Brayden Blaike Lemke, William Grayson Lemke, and Jaxon Beaux Lemke, his maternal grandmother, Sandra Lemke, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins in Ohio, New York, Virginia, Arkansas, and Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Paw-Paw Bill and Grandma Ellie Harper of Mansfield Ohio, and his Grandpa Cliff of New York. His loving and devoted wife was right beside him every step of the way. He had a great support system with his Missouri family, including his father and mother in-law Chris and Tammy Christeson, his siblings-in-law, grandparents, and many nieces and nephews. He shared his battle with his pint-sized, cancer fighting side-kick, Athena Rose Walker. They were two peas in a pod. Its not forever, it’s just for now. “Don’t worry, be happy.”

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 28, 2017 in the Johnson Funeral home Chapel. Rev. Tom Saulbeamer will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 9:00 AM and continue until the start of the service. Following the services, the family invites everyone to a celebration of Kody’s life at the Habibi Temple, 2928 Pack Rd, Lake Charles, LA 70615.
