Lana Sue Laird Duplechine, 58, of Toledo Bend, LA died on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 in her residence.
Mrs. Duplechine was born April 1, 1952 in Lake Charles, LA and attended Westlake High School. She lived in Lake Charles most of her life until moving to Toledo Bend three years ago. She worked as a bartender at Catfish Junction, Players Hotel, and the Triangle Club, and worked for the Lake Charles Workforce Commission for seven years. Her family was her greatest joy; always putting them first.
Mrs. Duplechine is survived by her husband of twenty-eight years, Randy Duplechine of Many, LA; children, Tony Fontenot of Many, LA, Tommy Culpepper and wife Belinda of Lake Charles, Mathew Jasen Culpepper and wife Bridgette of Lake Charles, Adria Garza and husband Fernando Garza, Jr. of Katy, TX, and Tara Duplechine and fiance' Richie Silva, Jr. of Spring, TX; sister, Sharon Spell of Sulphur, LA; grandchildren, Chelsea Fontenot, Morgan Nicole Duplechine, Lakyn Culpepper, Tyler Culpepper, Jordan Michelle Teeters, Emily Culpepper, Fernando Duplechine Garza, III, James Kalob Walden, Grace Culpepper, Thalia Angelle Garza, Ryan Culpepper, and Marcos Andres Duplechine Garza; great-grandchild, Elijah Fontenot; and her dog Charlie
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Betty Joe Mullins Laird; and her sister, Joy Laird.
Her funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon George Carr will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Sunday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
