Larry Charles Brown, Sr., 60, of Lake Charles died at 2:20 PM Monday, December 15, 2014 in a local care facility. Mr. Brown was born on December 2, 1954 in Lafayette, Louisiana. He lived most of his life in Lake Charles. Mr. Brown was a 1972 graduate of W.O. Boston High School. He worked for over 32 years as a pipefitter in the Lake Charles area plants. Mr. Brown won an award as Pipefitter of the Year. In his spare time he loved to spend time with his family fixing things and fishing with them. He is survived by one daughter, Angeline Purdy and husband Brandon of Lake Charles, LA, one son, Larry Charles Brown, Jr. and wife Tonya of Birmingham, Alabama, three sisters, Clara Coleman of Lake Charles, LA, Janice Marshall of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Beverly Brown of Houston, Texas, three brothers, James Brown, Sr., David Brown, and Leonard Brown Sr., all of Lake Charles, Louisiana, three grandchildren, David Jeremiah Brown of Birmingham, Alabama, Jathan Makai Purdy of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Malik Amir Brown of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and two very special friends, Vicki Yvonne Brown of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Janet Barlow of Airy, Louisiana, Mr. Brown is preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Wayne Brown and his parents, Mary and Joseph Brown. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
